The world faces multiple challenges to food security including under nutrition and over consumption, rising food prices, population growth, rapid diet transitions, threats to agricultural production, inefficient production practices and supply chains, and declining investment in food system research.
On the sidelines of UNFCCC COP20 the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and CARE will host a half day seminar to raise awareness and showcase actions on approaches to address the food and nutrition security and climate change challenges.
The seminar will also support decisive policy action for addressing the interconnected challenges of food insecurity and climate change.
Keynote speakers will share their experiences and expertise on food security with many opportunities for participants to network, learn and share information.
