Nursing Care in the Perspective of Agricultural Nursing

The essential role in contributing to the global health equity is by involving and developing a global perspective and awareness towards global health issues, and then finding a way to overcome these problems. Indonesian as a developing country with a majority of people working in the agricultural sector requires a comprehensive management in health care. Nurse as a health worker needs to have a comprehensive competence in providing health and nursing care according to the needs of the community.

Workers in the informal economy sector in Indonesia are reported suffering from malnutrion , parasitic diseases, asthma, skin allergies, cancer, chemical poisoning, muscle and bone disorders, repiratory disorders, and diseases of blood and the lymph nodes. Hazards faced in the workplace include noise, vibration, heat radiation, lack of lighting, dust inhalation, hazardous chemical exposure, poor ergonomics, and harmful equipment installation without using personal protective equipment for safety. These problems require an increase in the role of nurse in providing global standardized nursing care through multidisciplinary collaboration in the perspective of agricultural nursing. Based on this phenomenon, Nursing School of Jember University is planning to conduct international nursing conference with the topic of “Increasing Role of Nurse in the Era of Globalization through Interprofessional Collaboration in the perspective of Agricultural Nursing”. This conference aims to bring together academic scientists, researchers and scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research result about all aspects of “Nursing Care in the Perspective of Agricultural Nursing”.
