Ukraine and Indonesia Have Signed MOU on Cooperation Agriculture Sector - President Petro Poroshenko and President of Indonesia Joko Widodo have conducted the enhancement of agricultural cooperation. Ukraine and Indonesia also witnessed the signings of four cooperation agreements, including  a Memorandum of cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The Head of State noted that Ukraine was interested in agricultural products of Indonesia, inter alia, palm oil, coconuts and textile. “We have expressed willingness to supply goods. Indonesia is a very interesting market for Ukrainian grain, corn, starch, sunflower oil,” Petro Poroshenko said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia Retno Marsudi explained Ukraine is the largest wheat producer in the world. Ukraine exports wheat to Indonesia.  In the other hand, Indonesia exports crude palm oil to Ukraine.

The President noted that the trade turnover between the two countries in 2016 had been increased by more than 50% compared to 2015. “This is another evidence of our potential,” the Head of State added.

Recall that from 3 to 5 August the President of Ukraine was on a visit to Malaysia. During the visit, he expressed readiness of cooperation with Malaysia in the aviation and space sectors, have expressed interest in cooperation with ASEAN and invited Malaysian investors to Ukraine.

The other three MoUs are MoU on free visa fo diplomatic and official passport holders, MoU on diplomatic training and MoU on defence industry cooperation.
