An automatic weather station (AWS) is a monitoring station equipped with MEMS and SM bus technology versus digital sensors and digital data logger capable of measuring weather parameters such as temperature, wind speed and direction, air temperature, air humidity, air pressure, rain amount, solar radiation, and precipitation. This enables the acquisition of critical weather information from remotely located weather stations and made available at central location.

Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) is a technology that is defined as miniaturized mechanical and electro-mechanical devices made using the techniques of on microfabrication.Whereas System Management Bus (SMBus), it is derived from I2C for communication with low-bandwidth devices on a motherboard and a single-ended simple two-wire bus for the purpose of  lightweight communication.

Automated weather station has been tested for stability withstanding even a severe rainstorm. It is power efficient each unit consumes less than one watt of electrical power and can be powered purely through solar energy. Each unit can also be easily assembled in approximately 20 minutes. AWS can be used by all devices and supports all kinds of communication methods. AWS has two kinds of models. The base model is equipped with eight sensors, namely.
  1. Rain gauge, the application of Active correction algorithm.
  2. Rain detector, unification of impedance sensing method and heater.
  3. Wind vane, non-contact magnetic angular position sensing.
  4. Anemometer, measurable up to 75 m/s (167mph).
  5. Temperature and humidity sensor, application of Semiconductor method ASIC Chip application of semiconductor method.
  6. GPS system.
  7. Barometer, MEMS Technology applied to Piezo resistive method sensor Auto Temp. function Built-in.
The extended model comes with six additional add-on sensors solar radiation, sunshine duration, UVB sensor, soil temperature, soil moisture, and carbondioxide sensor. The data logger has a total of 16 channels, two are embedded and 14 are on the exterior of the unit. Based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology, AWS can record and store weather information in real time.
